Leica R4

|
Leica's second-generation electronic-shutter reflex camera, the Leica R4 was first made in 1980 by E. Leitz, of Wetzlar, Germany. The Leica R4 was the product of a joint development agreement between Leitz and Minolta. Minolta's comparable camera is the XD-11. Although the R4 and XD-11 share outward similarities and origins, there are significant differences between the camera makers' products.
The Leica R4 introduced a smaller size and interchangable viewscreens to Leica-R users, as well as provision for motorized film transport in the standard model. Exposure automation includes Aperture-priority, Shutter-priority, Program and metered manual modes.
